Its Sunday night and I’m about to head over to my mom’s house to the basement to hit up my second session of cardio for today. I will have to say that I’m pretty proud of myself. I have been hitting the weights and cardio hard lately. My diet is also pretty darn good and I think that due to all my new vitamins, I’m feeling great and my energy levels are WAY UP! Ever since getting my B12 shot and taking my new vitamins, I have been feeling great and I’m not as tired.
I now have about 5 days until I leave for Turks and Caicos and this morning I tried on some bikinis before my morning cardio and I will say that I’m not a train wreck or anything. Would I like to make some more changes, yes, but I’m not a mess or anything. So this week I’ll continue doing the best I can with my cardio and taking another Power class or two. I’ll also keep with my nice healthy balanced diet. I refuse to starve myself or totally cut carbs out and feel like crap. Its just not worth it to me. So I’ll continue to eat healthy and do my best to be beach ready!
Today I went to visit my cousin at her new college in PA. Wow, it made me feel old!! It feels like a lifetime ago that I was in college. I sure don’t miss going to class!! Anyway, it was so cold outside but we walked around outside while she took us on a little tour of the campus. It was a really cute little school and looks like a great place for her! All the walking in the cold sure did wear me out. I usually don’t spend that much time outside everyday to notice how much the cold can kick your butt!
Well I know this entry was pretty boring and uneventful but at the moment all I can think about is getting my cardio done and then eating a yummy dinner!
Oh, I have been on such a Chinese kick lately. Almost everyday for lunch last week I went to this Chinese place 2 min from work. They have a lunch special everyday thats called Boohdah’s Delight. Its chicken and veggies in a brown sauce with brown rice and a choice of soup or diet coke for 4.95!! and its SOOOOOOO good! I’m totally obsessed! It fills me up all day and its nice and hot and keeps me warm and its healthy! I LOVE IT! I can’t wait for lunch tomorrow!
Another fun thing… ROCK OF LOVE is on tonight which means I know what I’ll be watching during cardio tomorrow! Ahhhhh…. trashy entertainment sure makes boring cardio fly right by! I love it!

Sunday, January 20th, 2008Ok! This is SERIOUS! I am TOTALLY going all out full force for the next couple weeks! I refuse to look a HOT MESS for this weekend get-a-way coming up. This morning I woke up early and did 45 min of cardio at my mom’s house while I did some laundry. My washing machine broke so I had to lug 10 lbs of wet clothes to her house in the bitter cold this morning. Then I came home, jumped in the shower and made my way over to the gym (where I haven’t been in WAY too long) and took a kick ass Power Class. It was great and I have a feeling I’m going to be sore as hell tomorrow. I’m now eating some lunch and resting before heading back over to mom’s to finish laundry and hit another session of cardio. I have an entire To Do List to work on during the day too so I’ll be keeping plenty busy. I really should head into work to do some random stuff I’ve been meaning to catch up on but we’ll see how I do on time. Ok, off to Home Depot to get myself a kitchen faucet. I just got a new granite counter top and I’m so excited to get the plumber in here monday morning to hook everything all up!

Busy days
Saturday, January 19th, 2008Oh my goodness, I can’t even pretend that I’m not starting to FREAK OUT that the white wedding is just a couple of weeks away and I haven’t been as serious as I should about getting into bathing suit shape. Its such a shame too because I’m not really that far away from my goal. Lately for some stupid reason I’ve been eating a lot of sugar. I need to stop popping candies in my mouth and other various stupid things I get my little hands on. Maybe sugar is a winter comfort food? I don’t know why I start weird habits like that but I MUST break them. There was a time when I wouldn’t dare touch candies, bread and butter on the table or even use anything unless it was sugar free and suddenly now I find myself doing those things. That nonsense but be stopped. Today I started with an hour of cardio and then did walking lunges outside in the freezing cold across the lawn. I’ve been taking a lot of new vitamins my doctor told me to take and I’m actually starting to feel pretty good. One of my doctors did give me a prescription to get a Sleep Study done. I’m so tired so often and we are trying to get to the bottom of it so maybe a sleep study will help shed some light on things. Who knows, its worth a shot!
I was supposed to be in Florida this weekend but things at work are SOOO busy that I had to cancel my trip. I won’t be taking any days off until my little wedding trip to Turks at the end of the month. I did get an awesome little treat last week though when my amazing boyfriend flew up and surprised me at work on Friday! I was flipping out excited because I TOTALLY did not expect that at all. It was such a thrill that he did that for me. He’s just full of amazing surprises. One week its hot pink roses and for the holiday’s I got a necklace that he designed for me using a stone that was his mothers (who passed away many years ago so that gift was priceless and took my breath away!) So as you can see, I’m one lucky and VERY HAPPY woman!! Life for me is really great right now. My days are so full and my priorities are all in line. I love work. I love going to work and learning new things everyday. The company is constantly buzzing with new exciting things going on and its so much fun to be a part of it all. On Friday the woman I work with who has been training me for months and months was out and I was there holding down the fort. Well, things started off steady and under control and then all the sudden work blew in like a freakin tornado! I was asked to do things I had never done and I started to freak out but I calmed down and took each thing one by one. Some things I had to teach myself and other things I know pretty well by now but by the end of the day I felt so damn good about myself and all I accomplished!
My house in LA still hasn’t sold. The market is awful out there plus the writers strike didn’t help. I still don’t have any furniture in my house here and its kind of starting to get annoying but I know I must be patient. I think after my trip to Aspen in March I might have to make a trip to LA… hopefully it will be to pack! By the way, I can’t wait for Aspen. I am SOO ready to ski again! We have a whole new gang heading out there this year so I’m really excited!
The weather here is COLD but I’m not minding it much. I only wish it would snow already. The weather people keep calling for it but they are wrong again and again. It flurries but nothing special.
Well, time to see what I’m doing tonight….

2008 is here!
Tuesday, January 8th, 2008Happy New Years everyone! Its 2008 and so far I’m off to a great start! I have a wonderful feeling about 2008. I’m back in New Jersey now, back to work and back to business- getting ready for this beach wedding I’m going to. I didn’t workout as much as I planned to in Florida so now its really crunch time for me. I will say that its pretty amazing how quickly my body responds to training and a cleaner diet when I just buckle down. It takes about a day and then I start seeing changes. I love it. Years ago it used to take a while before I could see a difference. I guess since I’ve been working out so long muscle memory comes into play and my body just knows what to do.
I’m back to doing my cardio before work and I will say that doing cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach usually works the best for me. I also love getting it out of the way because by the time I’m home from work I usually don’t want to have to think of doing a sweaty cardio session (unless I’m doing double sessions like I did yesterday for a nice jump start.)
I have been eating protein pudding with a sliced banana every morning and another pudding after work and I’ve been adding 2 teaspoons of Flax meal. Well, first off, Flax seeds are among one of the healthiest foods you can eat. I did some research on them and WOW, they are amazing for you. However, I initially started adding Flax meal to my diet because, to be quite blunt, I’m irregular with going to the bathroom. I know a lot of people out there suffer from that too so I thought I would share something that I found really works for me and maybe it will help you too. Now, because of Flax meal (ground flax seeds) I dont miss a day! Yippy!!
On thursday I’m going to my new doctor to find out the blood test results. I did speak to her on the phone from Florida and she told me that some of my vitamin levels are low (like my B vitamins) and that could be the reason I’m tired so much. WOW! It would be amazing if I finally found out why I get so tired after all these years and it all comes down to not taking B vitamins! I would be like a new woman!
I think I’m going to try to take my favorite class at the gym tonight, POWER!! I haven’t taken it since before I went away so I’m excited to see if they have new music in the class now.
Ok, time for cardio and another tivoed episode of Nip Tuck- my favorite!!
Here are some pictures of my traveling pooch, Turbo, at the airport. He was drugged up and acted like a total gem! There is one with his grandma (my mom) wheeling him to the terminal on her luggage, another where we stole a wheel chair and tried to wheel him through security but we got caught so that didn’t work and another of him under my seat in his bag with his head sticking out sleeping because he hates being stuck in his bag. Isn’t he just the CUTEST!!!
