What a perfect day outside! Its saturday afternoon and the weather in New Jersey is good enough to eat! I woke up this morning at 7am and felt great. I cleaned my car and ate my eggwhite sandwich and then headed to my new gym to take a Power weights class. It was great. The class is an hour long and you use a bar that you load with different amounts of weight throughout the class. We did tons of squats, power cleans, shoulder presses, lunges, chest, triceps and biceps and abs. It was great! When I was done I tried to do cardio on one of the machines but just couldnt bring myself to stay inside to do cardio so I left the gym and drove to the park for some rollerblading. The park wasn’t packed at all so I was able to get in a couple laps without worrying about knocking into anyone.
Then I came home and had a shake with a banana and a big bowl of watermelon. Yum! Now I’m sitting outside by the pool watching Blood Diamond on my laptop. I’m 40 min into the movie and its great so far but I thought I would take a break to write. What a great way to spend a relaxing Saturday! I think I might even hit some tennis balls this afternoon.
I can’t wait to try other classes at the gym but I know for sure that I’ll be taking this one again!

Thursday, June 28th, 2007Hey there! I’ve been keeping super busy as usual but I thought I’d stop in and say hello! Well, I’ve been training at my new gym and I just love it. I went with my brother two nights ago to train legs and it was great. There are so many wonderful machines there that I have never seen in my life. This gym is UNREAL. They have every type of new state of the art equipment. Everything is fresh and clean. They have 140 pieces of cardio, an Olympic size pool, therapy pools, saunas, steam rooms, a kenesis room, pilates, spinning, yoga, TONS of classes to take, cooking classes, a wellness library full of books, a cafe, a spa that does facials and massages and tons of treatments, awesome locker rooms, doctors and nurses on staff, a rehab center, nutritionists, trainers, a daycare center.. and get this.. if you have kids in daycare and your doing cardio, you can actually turn to a channel on the tv on your cardio machine and check in on your kids! HOW AWESOME! But I dont have kids so whatever…. haha! The list of things at this gym goes on and on… its the most awesome gym EVER!
So my brother and I trained legs and we did 4 sets of everything we did… extensions, single leg curls, squats, straight leg dead-lifts and calves on the leg press. Then I finished with abs and I was very pleased with my workout. So today my hamstrings are sore but I thats ok because I know I hit them hard.
Well, today I have a hair appointment so I need to be going now. I think I might head to the gym later tonight for some upper body and abs.

BIRTHDAY WEEKEND WRAP UP!
Thursday, June 21st, 2007Jersey sure is keeping me BUSY!! I can’t believe its taking me this long to write an entry! Well, to give you a bit of an update, this past weekend was my birthday weekend. Well, June 18 was my birthday but I celebrated starting Friday night until about Wed morning. Friday night was dinner in New York City and the Boathouse in Central Park and then Sat night was my mom’s cocktail party for her local friends and business people (not for my birthday but I went and had a blast!) and then Monday we had margaritas and chips and played Chinese checkers to end the night! I did eat a LOT of desserts but its ok. I had fun and I’m back on track again. Although, I will have to say, I DID NOT miss any cardio even through all the parties and my birthday. But let me say this, I also DID NOT go over board on anything. We didnt even have a birthday cake. I actually just took some bites of desserts from my mom’s party and said, ok, thats my cake! I really didn’t feel like wrecking all the hard work I have put in to get my body back on track and looking and feeling great again.
I just joined the most AMAZING GYM EVER the other day and I am SOOOO excited to tell everyone about it. I have been to MANY gyms in my day but I have NEVER seen a gym like this. I can’t wait to tell everyone all about it… but that will have to wait because I have to go there now to train. BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!
Friday, June 15th, 2007Good morning! Its 6am and I’m just drinking my coffee before hopping on my morning cardio. Its been a pretty hectic week but guess what… its my BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!! How exciting!! Well, on Monday I’ll be 27 but since this is the weekend before, thats when we are going to celebrate.
Let’s see… well last night at around 3am Jay arrived from L.A. and that kicked off the weekend. Today I have work and then tonight we leave for a night out in NYC. My mom’s boyfriend is surprising me with a dinner there and I can’t wait to see where we’re going. I’m going to get al dressed up! Then Saturday night my mom is having a cocktail party (for her own business associates, ect) but I’ll be there! Sunday my brother and I will take our dad to breakfast. I’m sure we’ll do lots of other fun things this weekend but I’m not sure what else at the moment. I’m going to make a huge effort to take lots of pictures though.
Work has been great. I am finally really leaning out. My arms and abs are starting to really show more muscle and its so exciting. You can really see the shoulders I have worked so hard to build now.
I got spray tanned for the weekend and as we all know, the tan really helps things pop so today its a big difference.
Well, my coffee cup is empty. I just wanted to give an update. I’m going to weigh myself on Monday and I’ll give the new weight update. That should be interesting… but I WILL be having birthday cake this weekend so ya know ![]()
Last year for my birthday I was training and had candles in a protein pancake. This year I’m eating cake!

Saturday, June 9th, 2007TGI…. THE WEEKEND!!! Its Saturday morning and I was really ready for it to be the weekend by Friday. What a long, busy week. I was so happy to be able to sleep in a bit today. Waking up at 6am for cardio everyday is so wonderful but by the end of the week I start to struggle a little bit waking up. Infact I was in bed by 9:30pm a few nights and it was still hard waking up! I have always been one of those people who requires more sleep. Some people can run on just a few hours of sleep and be fine. If I don’t get enough rest, I am a total disaster! So today I slept until 8am and it felt terrific.
I’m sitting here drinking my coffee before heading to get in a cardio workout. I haven’t missed one since moving back to NJ. I can really see some nice steady, gradual changes happening with my body. It feels so good to be back on track.. and doing it WITHOUT having to do a million hours of cardio a day and dieting like crazy. THIS IS THE BALANCE I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!
Thursday night after a long day working and then more meetings after work I finally dragged my butt to Rowdells. I could barely keep my eyes opened. After doing 3 sets of lat pull-downs and some tricep exercises, I told him I couldn’t stand it anymore. Its not like me to quit in the middle of a session ever but I had to be honest with myself and I knew my body was too worn down to keep going. My form was sloppy and I just couldn’t take it. I drove home and climbed right into bed. I was asleep within minutes.
This is going to be a busy weekend so I better get started…

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007Wow, I feel like I haven’t written in here in a long time. My days or so slammed and busy its crazy. I’m having a blast though. Each day is so full and I learn so much. Good news, I lost another 2 lbs. I can really see my arms leaning out and my legs are looking good. I haven’t missed cardio for one day. Tomorrow I wont be doing it in the morning though. I’m taking my little 4 year old cousin to school so I’m babysitting her at 7:15 am before work and dropping her off on my way. I’ll do cardio later in the day.
Tonight I train with Rowdell at 7pm. I don’t know which body part we’re doing but I can pretty much guess that he won’t be killing my calves again. I showed him the picture of my calves in bed on the day I was supposed to go to the beach and he felt bad.
Anyway, the weather is really nice here today. It rained all day yesterday so I’m going to head outside with the dogs before training. My goal is 1-2lbs a week from now on… its time to kick it up notch
